City of Belmont Seniors Plan for the Next Season!

City of Belmont Seniors Planning for the Next Season!

It certainly has been a busy winter here in Perth for Planning for the Next Season!

Over the course of two days, about fifty (FIFTY!) seniors from the City of Belmont attended Planning for the Next Season workshops on 14th and 22nd June.  The feedback from the sessions was outstanding. What’s more, more older people are now thinking and planning about how they can stay home well now and into the future with a good understanding about how the aged care system works and how they can be clear about articulating their needs with providers.

Well done to all the participants and a special thanks to Helen O’Sullivan at the City of Belmont for her great work with seniors and people with disability in the City of Belmont.

At Planning for the Next Season we are always working to bring you new ideas, tools and thinking. Soon, we’ll have a brand new resource available- the Planning for the Next Season facilitator’s guide! How soon? The guide is just about ready to go to print.

With the facilitator’s guide and participant workbooks, this means that organisations and groups, both formal and informal, will be able to run Planning for the Next Season workshops anywhere in the world!

🙂

Are we excited?  You’d better believe it.

For more information before the launch, just send us an email.  We’d love to catch up.

New at Planning for the Next Season

Planning for the Next Season is now offering workshops for groups of elders and/or groups of adult children (10-20 participants) interested in working through the Planning for the Next Season roadmap together.

The opportunity to work together in a group, developing a road map, gives everyone the chance to share their knowledge and wisdom around what works and what doesn’t when planning to stay well at home now and into the future.

Planning for the Next Season workshops are also perfect for people who are considering accessing home care packages and want to reflect on what they are truly looking to get out of their package.

Having a workshop is a great way of sharing experience whilst gaining new knowledge and tools in a peer setting.

We are now taking bookings for workshops, so ring us today on 0400 248 655 to book a time that suits.

So many opportunities!!

This year has flown by at an unbelievable pace! It was easier to ignore the ‘Christmas is coming’ posts on Facebook before all the holiday decorations were up in the shops!
The holiday season is nearly well and truly upon us it would seem, but before the busy-ness of the season kicks into the highest gear, I wanted to fill you in on some upcoming events.
First, tomorrow, 4th November is the Rockingham Seniors and Carers Expo which will be held between 10:00-2:00 at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex on Goddard Street in Rockingham. I’ve seen the list of exhibitors and it will definitely be worthwhile going along if you are in the area. Planning for the Next Season will be there as well as our friends ne: Solutions, Affinity and so many more.

Seniors Week is next week!! Planning for the Next Season will be at the Have a Go Day in Burswood on 11th November. If you haven’t been to this event before, you definitely do not want to miss it. It’s a full day of trying new activities and having a chat with organisations/groups/businesses who are all committed to making life a bit easier for people over 50.

Finally, on 12th November, Planning for the Next Season, with ne: Solutions will be holding SEEC- Social Evening with Expert Conversation. This is an evening of conversation and networking for people who want to understand options for themselves or elder family members.  Tickets are through Eventbrite and I’ve included the link below. We hope to see you there!
