How does it work

The Planning for the Next Season framework can be used in many ways. The important thing is to help people make plans to age in place and increase their understanding of supports and services available….and how to access them.

Planning for the Next Season is a way of thinking about and planning for staying at home as you age.

We consider that life is a journey and when you are on a journey it helps to have a map and conversations with people who have been on a similar journey.

Why do we do this? Because we want to understand what is available to help us age in our own home, living our lives as we choose. We want to know what options are available and close to hand. We also want the opportunity to share our experiences and wisdom about what works.

Here are some ways you can use Planning for the Next Season:

  • As a peer workshop with people just like you, who are on a journey.  In our time together, we make a map of ideas on how to stay at home. Together, we share our experiences of what works and what doesn’t, the resources required and where to find them
  • If you choose, you can use the Planning for the Next Season workbook on its own and work through it with your family.
  • The team at Planning for the Next Season are also available for individual family consultations to work through the framework with you in a way that is personalised to you.

However you choose to plan, Planning for the Next Season can help you understand what is available and how to access it. We aim to educate and inform people to take the mystery out of accessing supports and services when and if they are needed.
