Welcome and thanks for stopping by Planning for the Next Season! We work together with adult children and their ageing parents to think about and make plans for living life to the full.
That makes sense, but you may be thinking, “We already do that now”, or “It’s too early to think about these things. Everything is fine at the moment”.
We work with people, using the analogy of a road map with sign posts because life is a journey, not a destination. Every journey is different. Even if you’ve made the same trip many times, there are always considerations to be made depending on where you travel, how far you are going, and what you will do when you get there. When you plan a journey, you plan it to suit you- what you like and what you don’t like. It’s good to think about the journey and have enough information to be able to move forward, turn around and make a change if needed.
People’s life journeys are no different. It would be a rare person who could say that their life was exactly the way they thought it would be right from the start. Along our journey, we may have had people give us some direction…some inspiration…some options and some ideas about how we could move forward, turn around or go back.
Ageing doesn’t stop life’s journey. Your journey continues and grows. At Planning for the Next Season, we meet with you and work out where you want to go and how you want to get there. We can help by exploring ageing well and making your own choices into the future and help you think about what resources you will need and when.
Whether you are an older person yourself or you have ageing parents, conversations about the journey can be difficult. We can help by providing information, alternatives and resources to help facilitate the conversation.
We work with each person and family together, respecting and understanding their unique journey. Every person is unique. Every journey is different. No two people experience life, or ageing, in exactly the same way.
Thanks for stopping by Planning for the Next Season. We will be blogging about things that might interest you, so check back from time to time. You can also find us on Facebook or Twitter.
